RV Inside Tour

Front Kitchen

This isn’t your typical fifth wheel! The kitchen is ginormous! Notice how the kitchen opens up to the living area. This allows us to be together as family!RV Odd Couple New Home Tour! RV Living/RV Lifestyle 1

38FKOK Forest River Sandpiper Counter tops

My favorite part of the kitchen is the counter space. The countertops look like natural stone, but they are a composite to minimize weight.RV Odd Couple New Home Tour! RV Living/RV Lifestyle 2

This RV has a residential size refrigerator that runs on electric power.

There is one big sink in the island and you can cover it with matching tops.  The upgraded gas stove and bigger oven is perfect for full-time RVing use!RV Odd Couple New Home Tour! RV Living/RV Lifestyle 3

We turned the dinette into our office.  This way we can all be together while we work remotely and live our day to day lives.  The cabinets and drawer storage on opposing slides gives us a ton of storage and counter space and a wide-open feel.

The only downside of the major kitchen is that we no longer have a dedicated second bedroom. There’s only so much room in the 5th wheel camper interior, so you have to make compromises. But since we didn’t end up using the kid’s room as we expected, it was well worth it.

Open Living Area

We made a modification to the 38KOK layout.  Instead of keeping the 3 couches, we turned one of the sofas into a standard dining area.  The dining table offered us a place to sit down to eat together as a family.  This allows us to separate work time from family time.RV Odd Couple New Home Tour! The main living area inside the Sandpiper Fifth wheel has very high ceilings that feel open. The F O G colors and accent crown molding all over looks modern and feels luxurious.RV Odd Couple New Home Tour! RV Living/RV Lifestyle 5

The upgraded electric fireplace is larger, more beautiful, and heats the RV quite nicely.  The TV is also much larger than our previous one.

Master Bedroom

The Master has tons of storage! This Sandpiper comes with a king size bed, built-ins above and across the bed, his and her’s closets, and matching dresser drawers!RV Odd Couple New Home Tour! RV Living/RV Lifestyle 6

I use the built-ins above the bed for linens. The build tins across the bed are for Sage’s toys.  And all of our clothes are in the back wall wardrobe.  While the closet in the 38FKOK is smaller, the cost of fewer clothes was worth it for the other creature comforts.

The bathroom looks huge!  The finishes are modern and bright.  The shower comes with built-ins and a bench seat!!! This is so rare to find in a regular home, much less a 5th wheel inside!

The mirrored medicine cabinet in the 38FKOK has a ton of room for toiletries another bathroom storage.  And unlike the older model, the new sink is bigger and the faucet sticks out more.RV Odd Couple New Home Tour! RV Living/RV Lifestyle 7

The Central Vacuuming System from the last RV has been carried over to the newer mode.  This is one of the most practical parts of our 5th wheel camper interior! I can quickly vacuum the entire RV in a flash. This vacuum system reaches every nook and cranny of the fifth wheel inside. And it helps me keep the outdoors- outdoors!

RV Odd Couple New Home Tour! RV Living/RV Lifestyle 8Both the LOK and the FKOK both have an outdoor kitchen. We don’t really cook outside, but it’s a nice storage space for John.

Sandpiper Review:

We love our Forest River Sandpiper.  We’re a Forest River family because RVing full time has brought us closer together!  So here’s our Sandpiper review of the 38FKOK.

Here’s a list of what we love: We love the openness of this layout.  The slides on opposite sides of the kitchen, living area, and master make the space feel huge!RV Odd Couple New Home Tour! RV Living/RV Lifestyle 9

We love the new 2020 FOG color scheme.  The brighter colors make us feel happier.  And we love our kitchen!

The only thing we would like would be heavier blinds.  But you can’t have everything!  There’s always a compromise when selecting an RV!
