Wondering How to save Space in a Tiny kitchen? Maximize the space in your Van Kitchen with these 7 RV Kitchen Tips. These space-saving gadgets will help you make the most of your Tiny Kitchen!

If we haven’t already met: We’re John & Mercedes, the RV Odd Couple. We sold our house & most of our possessions to RV pursuing freedom, independence, and adventure because life is too short!  The following article is our personal experience.  We are not safety professionals.  There are affiliate links in this post. Kitchen Tips, How it all began…

We partnered with RV Share and rented a Van.  We chronicle the Van Life experience in this article.  Frankly we had no intention of discussing Van Kitchens.  But the RVers that we rented from were skilled Nomads.  They had lived in a boat and lived in multiple RV’s.  And when we noticed how well they had set up their kitchen, we knew that we had to share about it!

While you can find all of our favorite small kitchen supplies at our Amazon Store here, we wanted to take a minute to share the kitchen organization hacks that stood out to us in this tiny Van kitchen.

Quick thank you!

We have to give a quick thank you to RVShare because without them, we never would have rented this Van, met Mike & Terri, and learned about these awesome kitchen hacks.  If you’re considering an RV or a Van, we believe you should try renting before you buy.  It’s way cheaper to rent an RV than to buy one with the wrong floor plan.  And if you’re going to rent an RV, we recommend RVShare.  They can protect you & ensure a smooth renting experience!

Van Kitchen Tip #1: Think Non-Stick

The first Kitchen Tip that stood out to us was how they created more storage space by strategically using non stick liner. They picked colors that matched with the decor, (because this stuff comes in so many colors!) and they used it on flat surfaces that would otherwise not work for storage.

You see, in a van, every time you stop, everything slides.  The non stick liner made it so you could store things on top of tables without anything spilling.

RV Kitchen Tip #2: Maximize Cabinet Space

7 Space Saving TINY Kitchen Organization Ideas (RV Living Tips) 2One of the most underutilized spaces in kitchens is the back of the cabinet.  So when we noticed that the van had a spice wrack in the back of the cabinet door, we were impressed with this space saving hack!

Because spices on cabinet shelves can be hard to read.  But these hanging spice wracks saves space and keeps all of your spices on hand & accessible.

Tiny Kitchen Tip #3: Use Non Slip Bowls

While I’ve been using collapsable kitchen bowls up until now, I was very impressed with these stacking metal slip resistant prep bowls.  The rubber bottoms keep them from clinking and clanking while driving, and they nest nicely.7 Space Saving TINY Kitchen Organization Ideas (RV Living Tips) 3

Van Kitchen Tip #4: Nesting Pots & Pans7 Space Saving TINY Kitchen Organization Ideas (RV Living Tips) 5

Never before have I seen nesting cookware, that was so perfect for nomads!  This Magma nesting set of pots and pans is perfect RVers!  In fact, I challenge anyone to find a more effective way to store so many pots and pans as effectively as the folks at magma!

This cookware set allowed me to have a whole kitchen at the palm of my hands. (Now if only we could figure out how do the same with counter space…)

RV Kitchen Tip #5: Multiple Purpose Tools

7 Space Saving TINY Kitchen Organization Ideas (RV Living Tips) 7Any and all gadgets in a tiny kitchen have to be “hard workers.”  And what I mean by that is that they have to serve multiple purposes.  Gond are the days of a separate apple core slicer, banana slicer, watermelon slicer… you get it.  You have to find a way to accomplish multiple functions with 1 gadget. And that’s why having sharp knives is so important!  But unlike other knives, this knife set comes with an edge-keeping blade protector.  So this both protects our child from cutting herself with the knife while keeping the blade sharp!

Bonus Kitchen Organization Tip: Go Small

Another RV kitchen gadget that we almost forgot about was this tiny trash can.  But unlike other trash cans, this one is specifically designed to fit grocery store bags. So when you get grocery store bags, they double as trash bags.7 Space Saving TINY Kitchen Organization Ideas (RV Living Tips) 8

Tiny Kitchen Tip #6: Go Vertical

When you can’t go wide, go vertical!  What we mean is use as many wall mount grippers as possible. These wall mounted broom grips help with maximizing storage.  And you can use them for more than just the mop & broom.  They work great for walking sticks, window cleaners, and any other pole mounted device.7 Space Saving TINY Kitchen Organization Ideas (RV Living Tips) 10

Because the last thing you want is your broom, mop, and other items to be in the way when you’re in a van or RV!7 Space Saving TINY Kitchen Organization Ideas (RV Living Tips) 11

Van Kitchen Tip #7: Use Collapsable

Saving the best for last, this was our favorite Van Life hack!  This collapsible bucket is super compact for storage but very functional!  Compared to the standard Home Depot bucket that John uses, this collapsible bucket is great for full time RV living, multiple purposes, and conserving space!7 Space Saving TINY Kitchen Organization Ideas (RV Living Tips) 13
